Adults with a developmental and physical disability are not eligible for SSAH funding. It is important to plan for the transition to adulthood with children and their families well before their 18th birthday.

Complete 300 hours of On the Job Training to qualify for a 6-12 month contract position with ACES & Guides Staffing. Successful completion of training includes performance assessments and evaluations.

Aamir Khan is a full-time professor in the School of Behavioural Studies at Seneca College. He has worked in the field of developmental disability and applied behaviour analysis (ABA) since 2004. Mr. Khan is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and holds a master’s degree in applied disability studies with a specialization in ABA from Brock University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and philosophy from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Khan’s work experience ranges from providing direct support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in their homes, to managing teams in social service agencies, developing and implementing ABA programming for adults and children, and managing a team of multidisciplinary clinicians.
Amberley has been an English Language Instructor, Community Facilitator and Behaviour Therapist for nearly 20 years. He specializes in developing the skills and talents of autistic and neurodivrse students and job seekers. He is passionate about support and helping adults succeed with the transitions in their lives.
His primary focus is skills training and personal development in the areas language and communication, flexible thinking and perspective taking. He also focuses on Life Skills, Employment, Right & Self Advocacy and Social Engagement.
He has most recently piloted the development of transitional solutions that provide support, instruction and care to individuals, in a low cost, yet effective manner, transitioning out of school, into the community, into employment and towards independent living arrangements.
